Carlos Tevez has been suspended by Manchester City as they investigate the now infamous events during Tuesday evening's UEFA Champions League defeat by Bayern Munich.
City boss Roberto Mancini revealed following the 2-0 defeat that the Argentina international had refused to come off the bench to during the second half.
A fuming Mancini stated after the match that he felt Tevez was 'finished' with the Premier League club due to his actions.
However, the former West Ham and Manchester United forward responded with a statement of his own on Wednesday, denying that he had snubbed the instruction to leave his place on the bench.
The 27-year-old will be absent from the Etihad Stadium and the club's training ground for no more than the next two weeks while the club looks into the matter.
A statement on the club's official website read: «Manchester City can confirm that striker Carlos Tevez has been suspended until further notice for a maximum period of two weeks.
«The player's suspension is pending a full review into his alleged conduct during Tuesday evening's 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich.
«The player will not be considered for selection or take part in training whilst the review is under way.»

Tevez confirmed his desire to leave Etihad Stadium this summer, however, a return to South America with Corinthians failed to come to fruition.
The Argentina international has been on holiday since featuring in the summer's Copa America, but he is due to return to Manchester on Thursday.
Silva believes that Tevez will be looking forward to playing the game he loves again, despite his eagerness to quit the club for family reasons.
City have UEFA Champions League football on the horizon and with the games coming thick and fast this term, Silva knows that Tevez is still very much an asset to the team.
